Our story

The story of YOKOFURI

The ancient art of Japanese embroidery at the service of contemporary streetwear.
Born from the encounter between Japanese craft heritage and the energy of modern streetwear, YOKOFURI is much more than a clothing brand — it is a celebration of gesture, symbol and detail.
Its name, Yokofuri, refers to a traditional Japanese embroidery technique invented during the Edo period. Originally used to embellish kimonos and obi sashes, this method involved swinging the needle from side to side to create exceptionally fine patterns. Each thread carried a meaning, each stitch told a story.
It is this art of movement and precision that YOKOFURI is reinventing today, transposing it into the world of premium streetwear.
The rooms then become canvases of expression where tradition and urban audacity, Japanese serenity and contemporary power meet.

The YOKOFURI spirit today

YOKOFURI perpetuates this tradition with respect, but transposes it into a modern and urban vision.
Each piece is conceived as an embroidered work, merging:
The grace of traditional Japan,
The symbolic power of mythical animals (tiger, dragon, phoenix, crane, koi carp...),
And the simplicity of contemporary design.
YOKOFURI clothing is not just worn — it is experienced as a legacy, between art, culture and movement.
